The goal of Skills4LumberJills is to provide participants with an opportunity to gain useful knowledge & experience when working on a variety of outdoor tasks that utilize hand and/or power tools. We do this with a mix of in-person and virtual classroom settings, print and digital media, and hands-on training to learn safe, basic and practical outdoor skills!

Good Business Spotlight

The Axe Women Loggers of Maine often encounter small & independent businesses that are run well, operated and/or owned by good people, and are a boon to their communities - and we're happy to spotlight them right here!
Please note: these businesses have not paid anything for this spotlight - we just feel they deserve some recognition!

We're happy to include the Maine Diner in Wells, Maine, in our Good Business Spotlight!

The food at the Maine Diner is only outshined by their employees!
When you're in Southern Maine, stop by and give them a try!
(and don't forget a slice of blueberry pie with locally made blueberry/chocolate chip ice cream!)
In addition to the above-mentioned business, some of the great ladies on our team run their own small businesses!
To help out our team, we've compiled a list with links to their business, and if they don't have a website, we'll soon be publishing contact info for their business!

Our Heritage and the Great Outdoors

The Axe Women Loggers of Maine are grateful to be able to travel all over this beautiful continent! We are committed to preserving the environment, our heritage, and the amazing cultural treasures of this great land!
A GREAT place to experience some of our home state of Maine's natural beauty and cultural heritage is at the
Maine Forest & Logging Museum
Located in a beautiful forest in Bradley, Maine, the Museum's mission is to

"...collect, preserve, and share artifacts, documents, tools, and equipment, and stories relating to the history of the Maine woods - particularly the pioneer and lumbering periods."
Be sure to check out their Facebook page for the latest hours, safety guidelines and policies!

As avid & responsible outdoor enthusiasts, the Axe Women Loggers of Maine support sustainable forestry practices!!
To learn more, contact your state Forestry Agency, Agricultural Commission or Forest Association!
